Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and resilient Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to provide expert critical care to a diverse patient population. This specialized role involves caring for patients who have sustained severe injuries from accidents or other traumatic events, as well as those who have undergone complex surgical procedures. The Trauma Surgical ICU RN is responsible for advanced monitoring, managing life-sustaining equipment, and implementing interventions in a high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate is a rapid critical thinker, can remain calm and effective under pressure, and has extensive experience with trauma and post-operative care.

Job Description:

The Trauma Surgical ICU RN is responsible for advanced monitoring, managing life-sustaining equipment, and implementing interventions in a high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate is a rapid critical thinker, can remain calm and effective under pressure, and has extensive experience with trauma and post-operative care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct, high-acuity care to critically ill trauma and surgical patients.
- Monitor and manage complex medical devices, including ventilators, IV drips, and hemodynamic monitoring systems.
- Administer life-sustaining medications and interventions with precision and accuracy.
- Assess patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status.
- Collaborate with trauma surgeons, intensivists, and other specialists to develop and execute complex care plans.
- Educate and support patients and their families through difficult and stressful situations.
- Maintain meticulous and accurate documentation of all patient care, assessments, and interventions.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license in Kentucky.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2] years of recent Trauma ICU or Surgical ICU nursing experience.
- COVID vaccine and recent TB test may be required.
