Position Details:

  • Full-time position available
  • 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM shifts available
  • Starting pay: $16.80 / Per Hour
  • Shift Differential for nights and weekends

Payment Method:

  • Get paid via Direct Deposit on a weekly basis

Job Summary: A psychiatric/behavioral facility located in Griffin, GA is seeking a dedicated Secure Tech to join their team. As a Secure Tech, you will be responsible for providing basic patient care and assisting patients/clients in developing daily living skills. You will work under direct supervision and collaborate with the Registered Nurse. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring the safety and security of the premises, preventing theft, violence, and rule violations, and protecting the facility in case of emergencies. Additionally, you will be involved in conducting searches of new individuals and their belongings, orienting them to the unit, monitoring behavior, and documenting activities accurately.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic patient care and assist patients/clients in developing daily living skills
  • Take vital signs under the direction of the Registered Nurse
  • Guard, patrol, and monitor premises, facilities, and other areas to prevent theft, violence, and rule infractions
  • Secure and protect the facility in case of fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events
  • Thoroughly search new individuals and their property; document all belongings in the EMR System
  • Orient new individuals to the unit, providing information about phone usage and mealtimes
  • Monitor individuals' behavior and promptly report any new or sudden changes to the LPN
  • Complete required documentation using acceptable formats for HST/Nursing assessments
  • Ensure accurate documentation of individuals' daily activities such as eating, hygiene, and sleeping patterns
  • Conduct safety checks at appropriate intervals based on the level of security (Q 15min, 1:1 or LOS)
  • Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed
  • Facilitate skilled groups for individuals following facility policy
  • Monitor suspicious behavior outside the premises and report any unusual findings to the Director/Charge Nurse
  • Enforce safety policies, ensuring compliance by individuals and their family members (e.g., no smoking on the premises)
  • Monitor the Unit/CSC/Temp OBS for illegal weapons, drugs, and contraband
  • Secure all exits, doors, and windows every 4 hours after 7pm
  • Respond to alarms promptly and take appropriate actions in a timely manner
  • Follow the policy on proper search procedures for individuals upon admission and accurately document their inventory
  • Participate in the morning and evening shift report, passing on important information to the oncoming shift (e.g., elopement precautions, jail holds, 1:1)
  • Perform any other duties as directed by the supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a Mental Health and Substance Abuse population environment (Preferred)
  • Experience working in a security position or equivalent (Required)
  • Fingerprint Based Background Check of the Georgia and Federal Criminal History Record
  • Drug Screen
  • Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past seven years
  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
