Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Administrative Support II (Patient Assistant) provides clerical and administrative services in support of clinical operations. This role handles various responsibilities including documentation, patient communication, medication logistics, and front office coordination. You will be instrumental in ensuring efficient and effective support to medical providers and clients, contributing to the delivery of quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the patient assistance program, maintain the medication supply closet and up-to-date logs.
- Communicate with drug reps and pharmaceutical companies to secure client-use samples.
- Complete patient assistance paperwork as needed.
- Dispose of expired medications according to policy.
- Dispense medications as authorized by medical staff.
- Answer and manage incoming phone lines and medication inquiries.
- Assist providers with medication-related tasks and follow-ups.
- Provide initial overviews of services to individuals and assist with insurance review and authorizations.
- Collect fees and review paperwork for completion.
- Ensure Release of Information forms are accurate and complete.
- Scan and maintain electronic client medical records timely.
- Meet Key Performance Indicators as outlined by the state of Georgia.
- Participate in Health & Safety duties as assigned.
- Adhere to company policies and perform additional tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 2 years of administrative or office experience
- Some roles may require a valid Georgia driver's license
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25-50 lbs
- Must be able to perform physical movements including standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and overhead reaching
