CNA Certified Nursing Assistant

Job Summary:
ATC-Northwest seeks to hire several Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to join our team in Portland, Oregon. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $25 per hour. As a Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) , you will provide direct patient care and assistance to our residents in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities while upholding the highest standards of quality and excellence.

We are looking to build a team (hiring multiple people) of compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) to work in one of our clients' Portland buildings. Our client is well known in the area for being a place CNAs want to work.

Job Responsibilities / Essential Tasks:
  • Provides for activities of daily living, including, but not limited to, Ambulation and positioning of residents, personal hygiene needs (assistance with eating, dressing, restorative care, etc.), and any other specific needs of the residents who are in the care plan or are requested.
  • Monitors vital signs and other testing/specimen collection as needed.
  • Reports all observations/changes of a resident's condition to a nurse as soon as practical.
  • Utilizes gait belt for resident transfers and ambulation requiring more than stand-by assist unless exception noted in the resident individualized care plan.
  • Documents all nursing care is provided to ensure that the care plan is being followed. Ensure proper communication to appropriate parties.
  • Ensures that the resident is comfortable and all needs and requests are being met.
  • Promptly answers resident's call lights and requests.
  • Instills confidence in the resident by performing duties in a competent and caring manner.
  • Maintains strong working relationships with other staff members throughout the facility.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all resident and company information.
  • Performs assigned tasks in accordance with acceptable standards of practice as defined by state regulations.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned.

Specific Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) experience and CNA License active in OR State.
  • Basic computer proficiencies are required. Examples are: ability to send and manage incoming emails; ability to turn computer on/off and operate a mouse; comfortable with opening, making changes to and saving documents.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate information concerning a resident(s)/family to the appropriate person(s).
  • Must be willing to accept new methods and principles and be able to incorporate them into daily workflow.
  • Must use safe work practices by following policies and procedures.
  • Must maintain a neat appearance and wear the required Marquis uniform for your department.
  • Must have patience, tact, and a positive attitude, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents/families.
  • Accepts reassignments of duties and/or caseload as needed to provide the necessary care for all residents.

Experience:
  • Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant for atleast 1 year active in accordance with the laws of this state.

Education:
  • Must possess, as a minimum, a High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must have successfully completed a state-approved Nursing Assistant course.
