Job Description
ATC Healthcare is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit assignment in Albuquerque, NM. This role involves providing specialized care for patients with a range of medical and neurological conditions in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care for patients in a medical Intermediate Care Unit (IMC), including conditions like gastrointestinal bleeds, pneumonia, sepsis, respiratory diseases, and stroke/neuro-related diagnoses.
- Collaborate with hospitalists and interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.
- Perform routine nursing duties, including patient monitoring, medication administration, and interventions.
- Float to other units, including PCU, Med-Surg, and ICU as needed.
- Document patient care accurately in Epic, ensuring compliance with hospital standards.
- Provide emotional support and patient education as needed.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in Intermediate Care or a related unit (Required).
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Required)
- BCLS (Required)
- NIH (Required)
- CPI (Preferred)
- First-time Travelers: Accepted.
- Epic Experience: Required.
- Scrub Color: Any (no logos).
Shifts & Scheduling
- Night Shift: 3x12 hours (6:30 PM - 7:00 AM).
- 36-hour weekly option available.
- Weekends: Minimum of six weekends required per contract. Schedule TBD.
- Floating: Required to all PCU units, Med-Surg, and ICU for PCU-level assignments.
- Orientation: Two bedside shifts in addition to hospital orientation.
Unit Information
- Type: Medical Intermediate Care Unit (IMC).
- Specialties: General medical and neuro patients.
- Staffing Ratios: 1:4.
- Beds: 12.
- Average Daily Census: 12.
- Support: Free Charge Nurse and PCT staffing (subject to call-offs).
