McLaren Oakland provides primary and specialty health care services guided by the principles of Osteopathic Medicine and the values of integrity, excellence, diversity and intelligence.   • Nonbillable Hours: 12 hours of initial hours on bill rates over $40/hr
  • OT/Holiday/Call back Markups: 1.1x Regular rates
  • Shift Extension Discount: $1/hr on the initial extension.
  • McLaren's local traveler policy is to reduce the travel rate by 10%. Anyone with a permanent address within a 35 mile radius of facility is considered a local traveler.

Travelers Can expect 10-20 hours worth of HealthStream and Cerner Modules to complete prior to start. They will be paid $300 on week one of their assignment if modules are completed prior to start.

EDUCATION

The RN is required to be a graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing. Current and unrestricted RN nursing license in the state of practice is mandatory. One year of experience as an RN in an Emergency Department in the last three years.

CREDENTIALS
  • A current unexpired RN license in the state of Michigan.
  • Current CPR at least to the BLS level as required by client facility; and other health and screening tests as required by specific facilities and/or regulatory agencies
  • References NOT required.
  • A skills checklist completed within one year of application for RN specialties is required.
  • Michigan license verification is required for nurses. Please provide LARA and Nursys; if there is a license hit, it would be in the traveler's best interest to provide a write-up of what happened for the manager's review.
  • Full-time employees of McLaren are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Various client facility settings; possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complies with ATC policies/procedures.
  • Complies with client facility nursing policies/procedures.
  • Establishes a therapeutic relationship and creates a detailed plan of care with the patient and family, mutually determining the aspects of care which are most important.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of plans and interventions to promote optimum achievement of established goals. Initiates and maintains open communication with other members of the team to assure that the patient and family receive the full scope of interdisciplinary expertise and services with a coordinated and integrated plan of care.
  • Communicates with patients, families, subordinate staff and peers to ensure that plans and associated interventions are understood, operationalized and revised, as appropriate.
