Job Description

  • Under supervision, schedules consumers for testing, assembles test materials and administer tests.

  • Develops and implements behavior management and/or skills acquisition plans

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Holds a CACI (or equally recognized SA certification equivalent or higher) and assesses the need for and provides substance abuse treatment and supports for team consumers.

  • Provides individualized substance abuse/addictive disease treatment to an average of at least 3 individuals daily as documented with progress notes that reflect use of EBP.

  • Conducts weekly substance abuse groups with individuals who are dually diagnosed. Attempts to engage individuals who are dually diagnosed for group treatment.

  • Maintains a caseload of 10-12 consumers as assigned: acting as the main point of contact for those consumers, ensuring each has a scheduled MD appt that month, and assisting each consumer in
    arranging transportation/planning ahead to keep these appointments.

  • Follows up on all missed MD appointments. At least 80% of services provided to consumers is in the community. Attends average 4 weekly treatment team meetings and reports on changes in clients seen and participates in formulation of next steps for consumers on census.

  • Available for after-hours (crisis phone) coverage as assigned and provides written notice of planned absence.

  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • CAC-I or Higher Certification

  • Experience working with individuals with Substance Abuse and/or Mental Health Diagnoses (Preferred)

  • Fingerprint Based Background Check of the Georgia and Federal Criminal History Record

  • Drug Screen

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university or certification as an addiction counselor from the Georgia Addiction Counselors Association (GACA) or equivalent certification

  • Must be able to list and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Knowledgeable regarding evidence-based practices for dually diagnosed population.

  • Ability to use Motivational Interviewing

  • Ability to provide an integrated treatment approach for mental health and substance abuse.
