$4000 a week, ($1,512 weekly stipend, $2,488 weekly taxable)

Position Overview:
ATC Northwest is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to work near Portland area. As a Nurse Practitioner at a Correctional Facility, you will play a crucial role in patient care, including comprehensive evaluations and treatment plans. Your responsibilities will range from routine check-ups to managing complex medical cases within our correctional facility environment. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct patient examinations, including assessing heart, lungs, gastrointestinal system, and other vital organs.
  • Evaluate patients for masses and enlargement in major organs and glands,
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as venipuncture and order laboratory studies.
  • Develop and implement patient treatment plans, prescribing medications and therapies as authorized.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare specialists to manage complex cases.
  • Explains normal growth and development, abnormalities, diseases, diagnostic methods, and treatment to patients.
  • Provide training and mentorship to nurses and healthcare staff.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross
  • COVID Vaccinated
  • Recent PPD Test or Chest X-Ray
  • Clear criminal background check(s) & drug screening
  • Reliable transportation & smartphone


Requested Knowledge:
  • Diagnostic techniques and nursing principles.
  • Current treatments for common human diseases.
  • Human growth and behavior.

Requested Skills:
  • Proficiency in therapeutic treatments, use of medical instruments, and medication administration.
  • Strong patient assessment skills including diagnostic procedures and data analysis.
  • Ability to exercise judgment in complex medical situations.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse individuals.
  • Experience working with patients in challenging behavioral situations.

This position is represented by American Federations of State, County, and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), as defined by statute.
