Job Title: Resident Aide
Position Summary
The Resident Aide is responsible for providing non-clinical support and assistance to residents in an assisted living, residential care, or long-term care setting. The Resident Aide helps residents maintain their dignity, comfort, safety, and independence while supporting daily living activities under the supervision of nursing or management staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including:
- Dressing and grooming
- Bathing assistance (as permitted by facility policy)
- Toileting and incontinence care
- Mobility and transfers
- Meal preparation and feeding assistance
- Observe and report changes in residents' conditions, behavior, or needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents.
- Assist residents with recreational and social activities.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
- Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and infection control guidelines.
- Respond promptly to resident call lights and requests for assistance.
- Document services provided according to facility requirements.
- Promote residents' rights, privacy, confidentiality, and dignity at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous 1 year minimum experience in a healthcare, assisted living, residential care, or caregiving environment preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as required.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification preferred (if required by facility).
- Must pass applicable background screening requirements.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and professionalism.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to assist residents with mobility and daily activities throughout the shift.
