Hospital Dietitian
Registered Dietitian – Hospital Setting
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

Position Overview
ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to provide comprehensive nutritional assessment, care planning, education, and medical nutrition therapy for hospitalized patients. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of clinical dietitian experience in an acute care or hospital setting and be committed to improving patient outcomes through evidence-based nutrition practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients across various age groups and medical conditions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans and therapeutic diets.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary care teams to support patient treatment plans.
- Assess nutritional risks and recommend interventions based on clinical findings, laboratory results, and medical history.
- Provide nutrition counseling and education to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Document assessments, interventions, and progress notes in the electronic medical record.
- Review and evaluate food intake, nutritional status, and treatment effectiveness.
- Participate in patient rounds, discharge planning, and care coordination activities.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, CMS requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.
- Support quality improvement initiatives related to nutrition services and patient outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
- Current Nevada Dietitian License or ability to obtain prior to start date.
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical dietitian experience in a hospital, acute care, or healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy, clinical nutrition, and therapeutic diets.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
- Excellent communication, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills. Nevada hospital postings commonly require RD registration, Nevada licensure, and clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with critical care, diabetes management, renal nutrition, oncology, or nutrition support.
- Specialty certifications (CDCES, CNSD, CSP, or similar) preferred.
- Experience with Joint Commission and CMS standards.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout patient care areas.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
