Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment & Triage: Rapidly assess patient status, prioritize cases based on urgency, and implement plans of care.
  • Clinical Execution: Administer medications, perform life-saving interventions, and assist physicians in critical procedures (e.g., intubations, starting IVs, splinting).
  • Patient-Centered Care: Provide culturally congruent care, collaborate with the healthcare team, and communicate effectively with patients and distressed family members.
  • Compliance & Standards: Maintain the highest standards of nursing practice and professional performance, keeping detailed, accurate patient records.
  • On-Call Requirement: Full-Time nurses are required to have 16 hours of on-call duty per 6-week scheduling period.
 
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's Degree, Diploma, BSN, or MSN. (BSN or MSN strongly preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of recent clinical experience in an acute care setting (e.g., Emergency Room, ICU, Telemetry, or Med/Surg) is highly preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Valid Virginia RN License or Multi-State Compact License in good standing.
    • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
    • ACLS, PALS, or ENPC certifications required within one year of hire.
