ABOUT THE MEDICAL ASSISTANT POSITION
We have an exciting opening for a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant works with general methods and procedures, exercises considerable independent judgment to select the proper course of action and is required to review the work of subordinate technicians to ensure conformance with established guidelines, methods, procedures, and policies.

Qualification requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of medical procedures, patient care, and documentation.
- Excellent time management, communication, interpersonal communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and uphold all patient care principles.
- Background and drug screening.
- A pre-employment physical may be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program.
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent).
- Prior professional Medical Assistant experience preferred.
Representative Duties and Responsibilities
- Complies with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain records, prepare reports and correspondence.
- Knowledge of laboratory terminology and equipment as necessary/specified by the working environment.
- Methods of analyzing blood, sputum, milk, water, urine, food products, contaminates, soil, industrial and municipal waste.
- Maintains confidentiality related to patient, family, client facility and staff in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
- Provides patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
