Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00PM–7:30AM) – 36 or 48 hours guaranteed
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Pay Rate: $2221.20/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts) 

Job Description 

ATC Healthcare is seeking a highly experienced Behavioral Health RN for a travel assignment in Brattleboro VT. This is a secure, high-acuity Adult Forensics/Intensive psychiatric unit. Candidates must be confident managing complex behavioral health patients in a structured and safety-focused environment.

The Adult Intensive Unit (AIU) is a 14-bed secure unit providing advanced psychiatric inpatient care for Vermont’s highest-needs adult patients. The Co-Occurring Disorders Inpatient Program provides 24-hour care, including medically assisted withdrawal, stabilization, and dual-diagnosis treatment (psychiatric + substance use disorders).

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide complex psychiatric care

• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary treatment team

• Provide clinical supervision to Mental Health Workers (MHWs)

• Manage patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders

• Maintain therapeutic milieu and ensure patient/staff safety

• Float to other units and take charge shifts as needed

Qualifications

• Recent Adult Forensics experience within the last 3 months – REQUIRED

• Minimum 5 years RN experience (recent inpatient psych required; LTC not accepted)

• Intensive/Forensics Psych experience clearly listed on resume

• Willing to float and take charge shifts

• Active Vermont or Compact RN license

• BLS Certification (AHA)

• Psych skills checklist (within last year)

• Driver’s license or full address included in submission packet

• CPI – offered onsite (confirm willingness at submission)
