Paraeducator (PARA2)

Location: Kent, WA

Duration: 20 Weeks

Shift: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $28/hour

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Paraeducator (PARA2) for a 20-week contract assignment with Kent School District in a float capacity. This role provides classroom and student support across various school sites as needed.

The paraeducator will assist instructional staff and provide direct student support, including behavioral and academic assistance. This position includes Float and HaHa (Highly Capable/High Assistance Hybrid) support, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and strong student engagement skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide classroom support under the direction of certified teachers

• Assist students with academic tasks and individualized instruction

• Support students with behavioral, emotional, or learning needs

• Float between classrooms or school sites as assigned

• Implement behavior plans and instructional accommodations

• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school staff

Qualifications

• Prior paraeducator or classroom support experience preferred

• Experience supporting students with behavioral or special education needs strongly preferred

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to adapt quickly in a float assignment

• Meets district and state compliance requirements
