Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

ATC Healthcare is seeking a Physician (MD/DO) for a short-term travel assignment in Circleville, Ohio, providing general medical services within a state-operated correctional/secure facility setting. This role covers a provider on leave and requires immediate availability.

The physician will deliver routine and emergency medical care for a non-specialized patient population, including evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, chronic disease management, preventive care, and minor procedures. This role also includes interdisciplinary collaboration, care planning, documentation, and clinical oversight responsibilities.

Candidates with pediatric experience are a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency medical care for patients/inmates in a state facility.
• Conduct physical examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
• Manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Prescribe medications and administer treatments.
• Provide vaccinations and communicable disease prevention care.
• Perform minor surgical procedures as appropriate.
• Monitor patient progress and treatment outcomes.
• Write medical evaluations, reports, and clinical summaries (admission, discharge, death summaries).
• Interpret and analyze laboratory and diagnostic reports.
• Maintain detailed patient documentation and progress notes.
• Write clinical orders and instructions for nursing and support staff.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and team meetings.
• Consult with other physicians and specialists as needed.
• Act as a consultant to allied health professionals (social workers, psychologists, psychiatrists).
• Support quality care initiatives and clinical standards of practice.

Qualifications

• Active certificate to practice medicine issued by the Ohio State Medical Board (per Section 4731.14 of the Ohio Revised Code).
• Certificate of registration issued by the State Medical Board (per Section 4731.281 of the Ohio Revised Code), or
• Limited registration with eligibility for next available medical board examination (per Section 4731.292, applicable to foreign medical graduates).
• MD or DO.
• Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work in structured, secure environments.
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Pediatric experience preferred (not required).
• Must be available to start ASAP (within the next couple of weeks).
