Position Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative services to students with speech, language, and communication needs. The SLP works as part of the school’s special education team, supporting students’ access to the curriculum and helping them achieve their individualized goals.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct speech and language evaluations and document findings.
  • Develop and implement individualized Speech Language therapy plans based on student IEPs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students individually or in small groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to integrate communication strategies in the classroom.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting goals and strategies as needed.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on goals, services, and accommodations.
  • Support students with articulation, fluency, expressive/receptive language, social communication, and augmentative/alternative communication (AAC) as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with school, district, and federal special education requirements.
