Registered Nurse (RN) – Intermediate Care Unit (IMC) - Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)

Location: Salem OR
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 4x12 Nights
Pay: $2,880.96/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) 

 


Job Summary:

The Intermediate Care Unit RN provides specialized care for patients requiring a higher level of monitoring and intervention than a general medical-surgical unit but less intensive than ICU. This role involves managing complex medical conditions, continuous monitoring, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective care.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor patients with moderate to high acuity.
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage telemetry monitoring.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as prescribed.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate care when necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, and discharge planning.
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.

 


Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
  • Licensure: Current RN license in [State].
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required
    • Critical Care or Telemetry Certification – Preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1–2 years of acute care experience; IMC, step-down, or telemetry experience strongly preferred.

 


Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and intermediate-level critical care.
  • Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and assist with patient care for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for operating monitoring equipment and performing nursing procedures.
