Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry (Adult Services) - Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)

Location: Oakland CA
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Nights
Pay: $2,863.44 /week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) 

 


Job Summary:

The Adult Services Telemetry RN provides specialized nursing care for adult patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and advanced observation. This role involves interpreting cardiac rhythms, managing complex medical conditions, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver safe, high-quality care.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using telemetry equipment.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and implement individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed.
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac health, medications, and discharge instructions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures.

 


Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
  • Licensure: Current RN license in [State].
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Required
    • Telemetry or Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation Certification – Preferred
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of acute care experience; telemetry or cardiac unit experience strongly preferred.

 


Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring.
  • Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient education abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

 


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift moderate weight for extended periods.
  • Manual dexterity for operating monitoring equipment and performing nursing procedures.
