Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Pediatrics - Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)

Location: San Diego, CA
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 20 weeks
Shift: 4x10 Days
Pay: $2,782.80 /week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) 

 

 


Job Summary:

The Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders in children from infancy through adolescence. This role focuses on improving communication skills and feeding/swallowing abilities to enhance quality of life and developmental outcomes.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of speech, language, and swallowing disorders in pediatric patients.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results and family goals.
  • Provide therapy for articulation, phonology, fluency, voice, language development, and feeding/swallowing.
  • Educate and counsel families on therapy techniques, home programs, and progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and educators to ensure coordinated care.
  • Document evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress notes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Maintain compliance with professional standards, facility policies, and state/federal regulations.

 


Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current state SLP license – Required
    • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) – Preferred
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of pediatric experience preferred; clinical fellowship year (CFY) may be considered.

 


Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of pediatric speech and language development.
  • Expertise in feeding and swallowing disorders in children.
  • Excellent communication and family education skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

 


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and interact with children during therapy sessions.
  • Manual dexterity for therapy tools and documentation.
