Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Radiology/Cardiology - Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)

Location: Salem, OR
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Nights
Pay: $
2,896 /week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) 

 


Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals to evaluate organ function and structure. This role requires expertise in preparing and administering radioactive materials, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety in compliance with radiation protection standards.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Position patients and operate gamma cameras, PET scanners, and related imaging equipment.
  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond to adverse reactions.
  • Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment and maintain accurate records.
  • Process and analyze images for physician interpretation.
  • Educate patients on procedure steps, safety precautions, and post-procedure care.
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, cardiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic results.

 


Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Licensure/Certification:
    • Current CNMT or ARRT(N) certification – Required
    • State licensure (if applicable) – Required
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1 year of nuclear medicine experience preferred; PET/CT experience is a plus.

 


Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in nuclear medicine imaging techniques and equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of radiation safety and radiopharmaceutical handling.
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

 


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and assist patients during imaging procedures.
  • Manual dexterity for handling radiopharmaceuticals and operating imaging equipment.
