Emergency Room Registered Nurse (Travel)

Location: Tracy, CA
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3×12 Days (every other weekend required; no guaranteed block/grouped shifts)
Pay: $2,316.60/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Position Overview

ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join a fast-paced ER in Tracy, CA. This role provides care across all ages—from neonates to geriatrics—in a busy emergency setting with a 4:1 nurse ratio. The ideal candidate is confident with trauma-informed care, rapid assessment, and high-acuity emergency interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
• Triage, assess, and treat patients with diverse emergency conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and behavioral health presentations.
• Perform emergency interventions such as IV starts, phlebotomy, splinting, arterial line management*, sedation monitoring, and ventilator management.
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV infusions per ER protocols.
• Utilize EPIC for accurate and timely documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, radiology, and ancillary services to support patient care.
• Maintain readiness for Level I/II trauma cases, STEMI/Stroke alerts, and high-acuity emergencies.
• Participate in weekend rotations and adapt to a variable schedule (no block scheduling).

Qualifications

• Active California RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI or MAB (either accepted).
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Experience with trauma care (Level I/II preferred).
• Ability to work every other weekend; may occasionally work consecutive weekends.
• Local candidates accepted at adjusted local rate (must be 50+ miles away for travel pay).
• Must be able to complete Sutter compliance requirements within stated timelines.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
