Psychiatrist (Travel)

Pay: $5,948.80/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Position Overview

ATC Healthcare is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist for a 26-week travel assignment providing on-site psychiatric services for an adult male population in a correctional setting. This role is Monday through Friday only, with no nights, no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call requirements.

The psychiatrist will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care for 12–16 patients per 8-hour shift. The start/end times offer some flexibility depending on facility needs.

The assignment may extend beyond 6 months and has the potential for permanent placement. A phone interview and an on-site tour are required prior to final offer.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits.
• Manage caseload of 12–16 patients per day in an 8-hour shift.
• Diagnose and treat psychiatric disorders including mood, psychotic, cognitive, behavioral, and trauma-related conditions.
• Provide medication management and monitor treatment effectiveness and side effects.
• Collaborate with medical, mental health, security, and administrative teams to ensure appropriate care.
• Document all clinical encounters thoroughly and accurately.
• Assist in crisis evaluations and safety planning as necessary.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care coordination when needed.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist (required).
• Active Ohio medical license (required).
• DEA certification (required for the assignment; can be submitted later if pending).
• BLS/CPR certification (required).
• Must submit a detailed CV including education (with year and location), training, and full work history.
• Must be available for a phone interview and on-site tour prior to confirming the assignment.
• Must be able to work full-time, Monday through Friday (40 hours/week).
• Must pass drug test and TB screening at least 48 hours before start.
• Correctional or forensic psychiatry experience preferred but not required.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
