Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position  
Location: Columbus, OH
Job Type: Travel Contract   
Duration: 13 weeks  
Shift: 3x12s Nights 
Pay: $2129.40/week 
Completion Bonus: Up to $7,500 total. (You will receive $2,500 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us)

Job Description:  

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN for night shifts within an acute care facility. The RN will manage a diverse adult and geriatric patient population with various general medical issues. This role requires strong skills in cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management, IV starts, complex medication administration, and performing bedside procedures. The candidate must be flexible with floating to lower acuity units as needed.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Monitor patient's condition, including vitals and responses to treatments, with a focus on cardiac telemetry (interpretation and management of dysrhythmias).
• Start and manage IVs and safely administer medications, including performing complex medication calculations and utilizing IV pumps.
• Perform bedside medical-surgical procedures, including Foleys, PICC, chest tube management, paracentesis at bedside, PD, and LP.
• Educate patients on treatments and self-care in preparation for discharge.
• Collaborate effectively with the care team on patient plans (including PT, RT, Social Services, and Pharmacy).
• Utilize EPIC EMR for charting.
• Float to lower acuity units if needed and follow all hospital policies to maintain patient safety.

Qualifications:  

• Active Ohio RN license or Compact license.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and IV certifications. 
• Minimum of 2+ years of recent clinical nursing experience is required.
• COVID vaccine, recent TB test, and Flu Vaccine are required.
