Intermediate Care (Stepdown/PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) - Travel Position  
Location: Dayton, OH
Job Type: Travel Contract   
Duration: 13 weeks  
Shift: 4x12s Nights 
Pay: $2944.80/week  
Completion Bonus: Up to $7,500 total. (You will receive $2,500 after the successful completion of each of your first 3 contracts with us)

Job Description:  

We are seeking a highly experienced Intermediate Care/Stepdown RN to staff a 36-bed Neuroscience IMC unit currently operating as a High-Risk Respiratory Unit (HRRU/COVID). The position requires mandatory, documented experience in a Stepdown/PCU setting with 1:5 patient ratios and specialized skills in ventilator management. The RN must be flexible, floating across three campuses and supporting high-acuity areas like Neuro ICU.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Provides skilled intermediate care for complex diagnoses including CVA, TIA, Seizures, and Neuro disease processes, while also staffing the High-Risk Respiratory Unit (HRRU/COVID).
• Manages high-acuity patients within targeted ratios of 1:4–6 (Average 1:4.5), requiring demonstrated ability to handle a 1:5 ratio in SD/PCU.
• Performs Central line care/management, PICC line management, and Tracheostomy care/management.
• First to float within specialty clusters across three campuses (Main, South, North) and to the Neuro ICU for appropriate assignments (with a buddy).

Qualifications:  

• Active RN license (Any state license accepted; compact accepted).
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing 
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are REQUIRED.
• Minimum 1.5 years of Stepdown (SD) or PCU experience. ICU experience does not count toward this requirement.
• Work History MUST explicitly show 1:5 ratio experience in a SD/PCU setting.
• COVID vaccine, recent TB test, Flu Vaccine is required.
• EPIC experience is REQUIRED.
