Registered Nurse – PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) Travel Position (with $7,500 Completion Bonus)

Location: San Diego, CA
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12 Rotating
Pay: $2,403/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts) 

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and compassionate PICU Registered Nurse to join our pediatric critical care team. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, advanced technical skills, and a commitment to family-centered care.

 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the intensive care unit.
  • Monitor and interpret vital signs, ventilator settings, and other critical parameters.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and advanced treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and perform life-saving interventions when necessary.
  • Educate and support families regarding patient condition, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols and regulatory standards.

 


Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing).
  • Licensure: Current and active RN license in [State].
  • Certifications:
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
    • Critical Care Certification (preferred)
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 1–2 years of pediatric nursing experience (PICU experience strongly preferred).
  • Skills:
    • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
    • Proficiency in pediatric ventilator management and advanced monitoring equipment.
    • Excellent communication and family-centered care approach.
