Job Summary

ATC Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for a full-time position in a school setting.

The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs and developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping students achieve their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals while fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning needs.

• Provide specialized instruction to students with intellectual, developmental, learning, and behavioral disabilities.

• Adapt curriculum, instructional materials, and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning abilities.

• Monitor and evaluate student progress toward academic, behavioral, and developmental goals.

• Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and required documentation.

• Collaborate with general education teachers, school administrators, therapists, and other educational professionals.

• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and educational needs.

• Implement appropriate classroom management and positive behavioral support strategies.

• Participate in IEP meetings, student evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions.

• Create a safe, structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.

• Ensure compliance with applicable special education regulations, school policies, and educational standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field

• Valid state Special Education teaching certification or license appropriate for the assignment.

• Experience working with students with disabilities in a classroom or educational setting preferred.

• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.

• Familiarity with special education laws, regulations, and instructional practices.

• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary educational teams.

• Background screening and additional clearances as required by the school district and applicable regulations.
