Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery / Med-Surg Float (Travel Assignment)

Shift: 3×12 Nights (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.)
Pay: $2,507.40/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

ATC Healthcare is seeking a versatile and experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Memphis, Missouri. This unique position requires the RN to provide care in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery, as well as assist or float to the Medical-Surgical unit when census is low.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, compassionate, and comfortable working across multiple patient populations, including laboring mothers, newborns, and general med-surg patients. Orientation to the Med-Surg unit will be provided prior to assuming float responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in all phases of labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.
• Assist with labor support, monitor fetal heart tones, and respond to obstetric emergencies as needed.
• Administer prescribed medications and perform newborn assessments, documentation, and education for families.
• Float to the Med-Surg unit as needed to assist with patient care, including monitoring, medication administration, and documentation.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe and efficient patient care delivery.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records in the facility’s EMR system (Meditech).
• Adhere to all infection control, safety, and hospital policy standards.
• Participate in weekend rotation (every other weekend).

Qualifications

• Active Missouri RN license or Compact State RN license (required).
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, or Mother/Baby (required).
• Must be comfortable floating to Med-Surg and providing patient care assistance when assigned.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, and Fetal Monitoring (required).
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing unit needs and patient populations.
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and multitasking skills.
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted).
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
