Registered Nurse - Radiology / Special Procedures (Travel)

Shift: 5×8 Days (Mon-Fri) + Call rotation (~10 call shifts/month)
Pay: $2,952/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Radiology / Special Procedures Registered Nurse for a travel assignment supporting interventional and diagnostic procedures. This role involves assisting with imaging-guided procedures, stress testing services, patient monitoring, moderate sedation, and pre-/post-procedure care. The RN will participate in approximately 10 call shifts per month, including after-hours and weekends.

This is a procedural environment with a small, collaborative team and requires strong critical-care skills, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in urgent situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing support for radiology procedures, including interventional and stress testing
  • Prepare patients through assessments, IV access, consents, and procedure education
  • Assist during procedures, ensuring sterile field support as needed
  • Administer moderate sedation and monitor patients' hemodynamic status
  • Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs throughout procedures
  • Deliver post-procedure care and evaluate readiness for discharge or transfer
  • Respond to emergent cases and support rapid intervention protocols
  • Participate in rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend coverage (approx. 10 shifts/month)
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in Meditech EMR
  • Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other clinical team members to support daily operations

Qualifications
  • Active RN license in Virginia or Compact State RN license
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Minimum 1-2 years Radiology, Special Procedures, or critical-care experience (required)
  • Strong IV and moderate sedation experience (required)
  • Certifications: BLS and ACLS (required)
  • Ability to work independently in a procedural specialty environment
  • Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and emergency response
  • Excellent communication and patient-support skills
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
