Shift: 3×12 Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
Pay: $2,250/week (plus $2,500 completion bonus per contract, up to $7,500 after three contracts)

Job Description

ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced Antepartum Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Louisville, Kentucky. The Antepartum RN will care for high-risk obstetric patients requiring inpatient monitoring prior to delivery. This includes management of complications such as gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, diabetes, preterm labor, and placental abnormalities.

The ideal candidate must have at least two years of recent antepartum or high-risk perinatal experience, be proficient with Epic EMR, and possess strong clinical judgment and communication skills. Antepartum nurses in this unit are fully cross-trained to Labor and Delivery and may float between the two areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and continuous nursing care to high-risk antepartum patients in a 15-bed inpatient unit.
  • Conduct frequent maternal and fetal assessments, including non-stress tests (NST), biophysical monitoring, and fetal heart rate interpretation.
  • Administer medications and IV therapies including magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and tocolytics.
  • Assist with obstetric procedures such as amniocentesis, cerclage, and D&C, and support high-risk vaginal and cesarean deliveries as needed.
  • Provide patient and family education on fetal monitoring, preterm labor warning signs, and home management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation in Epic EMR.
  • Collaborate with physicians, midwives, neonatologists, and support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Float between Antepartum and Labor & Delivery units when required.
  • Uphold patient safety standards, infection control policies, and hospital core values.

Qualifications
  • Active Kentucky RN license or Compact State RN license (required).
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Antepartum or Labor & Delivery RN experience (required).
  • Epic EMR experience required.
  • Certifications:
  • BLS and ACLS (required)
  • NRP certification (required)
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring - Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced (required)
  • Strong knowledge of antepartum complications including gestational hypertension, preeclampsia/eclampsia, diabetes, and fetal growth restriction.
  • Proficiency in administering and managing high-risk therapies such as magnesium sulfate and insulin infusions.
  • Excellent critical thinking, prioritization, and communication skills in high-acuity OB settings.
  • Must be able to float between units and work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
