Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team at a healthcare facility in Alexandria, LA, for a travel assignment. The RN will provide quality care to patients with cardiac and medical conditions, including monitoring telemetry, responding to changes in cardiac rhythms, and supporting overall patient care within a high-acuity unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to patients with conditions such as MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and some med-surg overflow.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans using evidence-based nursing practice.
- Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms, reporting abnormal findings promptly.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, care plans, and discharge instructions.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and assist in managing clinical workflow for the assigned shift.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current RN license in the state of Louisiana or Compact State eligibility.
- Certifications:
- Current BLS certification (AHA required)
- Current ACLS certification (AHA required)
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry or related Med-Surg experience preferred.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Must complete facility orientation and competency validation as required.
